I've heard and even sung words like this many times: be strong, and of good courage; fear not, neither be dismayed.
I think we can and should hope the goodness of our Heavenly Father will be on and over our lives if we are his. Often times in spite of the way things appear. Who needs courage when everything is peaceful, calm, covered & easy? I think the first part of the verse describes what the desire of a circumcised heart will be.
1Ch 22:13 ASV Then shalt thou prosper, if thou observe to do the statutes and the ordinances which Jehovah charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; fear not, neither be dismayed.
So let's determine to live lives of love and submission to the will of our Heavenly Father no matter the cost and trust Him with the results. Isn't that what Jesus the Messiah did?
Luk 9:23-25 ASV 23 And he said unto all, If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. 24 For whosoever would save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. 25 For what is a man profited, if he gain the whole world, and lose or forfeit his own self?
He didn't say it would be easy. He said he would never leave us! He will enable us, comfort us, defend us and embolden us through his Holy Spirit! We are the Bride of the Messiah!
