  1. It may seem like we already know all of these laws and rules, and we definitely know not to do these wicked things. But I think that the Lord has us read them more than once for a reason. First off, science has proven that if someone continues to read something, or continues to hear something, then that information will stay with them for a long time. Our Creator most definitely knows that (after all, he did create us).
I think that God also has his instructions throughout the Bible so that they will always be before us. If we are dealing with something difficult, then we will probably run into something that will stand out and maybe help. I think it's pretty helpful.

  2. I mentioned the Apostle Peter's writing in the Leviticus 11-13 post. Specifically I said that he was teaching Gentile followers of Jesus *how* to be holy/set apart from the world in how they lived, and he did that by quote-referencing the instructions on eating differently..."...or perhaps a few other places in Leviticus..."

    1. ...those other places are in today's reading:
      Reference Topic
*Lev. 11:44 - Food: animals we should.should not eat
*Lev.19:2 - how we act towards people and towards God
*Lev. 20:7 - consequences for rejecting God’s instructions
*Lev. 20:26 - clean / unclean animals again
      *Lev. 21:8 - consecrating the priest(s)
...so "being holy" - according to how the LORD describes it - is to eat differently, relate to God and others differently, live by a different "code of conduct", so to speak, and even to worship him differently.
