the LORD God stopped by Abraham's place on his way to go investigate Sodom in person (sounds familiar). Part of the reason was to deliver the good news about Isaac's birth (and his continued presence in Abraham's family), which would sure be reassuring considering what was about to happen down in Lot's neighborhood. Perhaps another reason was to get Abraham involved, praying for the salvation of the people of Sodom, a habit I bet Abraham continued - praying for his neighbors, - jeffrey
