  1. Sometime in the last year or two I came across a concept that brought some real clarity to the Torah, often referred to as "the Mosaic Law" or something like that. Try this one out and see what you think:
    When asked to give an overview of the God-focused life, Jesus said the great command is to hear with the intention of obeying, and to be loving toward God in every way we know how, with all that we can offer him. He also told us the second priority is rather similar, to be loving towards our fellow man. (Mark 12:28-31)...
    Those two commands didn’t replace the “Ten Commandments”, but rather, they *summarized *them. And the Ten Commandments are (more or less) an outline for all the other instructions. All of those other instructions/commands/laws/etc give us examples and case studies of how to apply the Ten and the Two...

    1. ...feel free to test that theory out as we read through the subsequent chapters: do these other instructors seem to be an outworking of the Ten Commandments? Do they show us how to love God with everything we've got, and to be loving towards our fellow man?
